Submission Guidelines

At The Concords, we invite original submissions of high quality engaging with a matter pertaining to Commercial Disputes. Mere compilation of case history is not what's expected unless there is addition of value by the contributors.

- Content and Format -

​

  1. We welcome guest submissions on all areas of Commercial Disputes (Arbitration, Insolvency and Contract Law, among others).

  2. We prefer submissions that fall within 1200-3000 words. The same is flexible depending on the quality of submission.

  3. We do not prefer footnotes in the articles. To refer sources of research, hyperlinks must be provided in the main text itself. Factual assertions must be supported with appropriate links to sources.

  4. The submissions must be in an MS Word document formatted using (Garamond font, 12 size, 1.5 line spacing, justified, British English).

  5. We endeavor to publish high quality articles which are analytical in nature. The following factors will be taken into account while assessing the submission (in the particular order).

    • Novelty of Idea

    • Relevance

    • Logical Arguments

    • Structure and Coherence

    • Writing-Style and Grammar

  6. Co-authorship - We allow co-authorship up to 3 co-authors.

 

- Types of Submission -

  • Novel Articles ("Novel Articles")

  • Analysis/criticism of articles previously published on The Concords. (or elsewhere) ("Analysis")

  • Submission of Ideas - We also have a policy of submission of ideas rather than articles. The contributors can submit their ideas on Theconcordsofficial@gmail.com, and our editors will author an article on the same. The contributor will be provided with a co-authorship with the editors. Please note that the submission of ideas will only be considered in exceptional circumstances. ("Idea")

 

- Contributor Agreement-

  1. We have a strict policy against plagiarism (in whole or in part). The contributors while submitting declare that the submission represents their original work and has not been copied from anywhere.

  2. While the submission is under consideration on The Concords, the contributors are strictly prohibited from sending the same to other places.

  3. Once, an article is accepted for publication on The Concords, all related Intellectual Property (IP) thereof would vest with The Concords.

 

- Submission Process -

  1. Submissions must be sent via mailing at Theconcordsofficial@gmail.com with subject "Type of Submission | Author Name | Title". Body of e-mail should contain the following details: Author's Name, Title of the Article, Affiliation, Declaration accepting terms as mentioned in the Contributor Agreement.

  2. Before submitting their posts, we strongly encourage prospective authors to review existing posts on the Blog to obtain a sense for both the substantive and formatting requirements.

  3. The submission will go through a rigorous review process for 5-12 days. The contributors will be intimated on the acceptance or rejection of their article within 12 days of the submission. Contributors must cooperate with the Editors to incorporate any revisions on their submission, provided it is accepted for publication.
